A fast way to get your bearings in the physical-AI industry. I mapped ~2,500 companies across 24 use-case types — what each builds, where it’s based, what it’s raised, and when it was founded — and turned it into an interactive briefing: the shape of the field, where the money and talent concentrate, when it all got built, where the “thinking” actually runs (on the robot vs. the cloud), and a browsable directory of every company.

It’s a best-effort census (May 2026), not a complete registry — coverage skews to companies with a web/English footprint, the long tail is undercounted, and funding is disclosed for only a minority — so treat the shapes as directional, not exact.

Below is the field at a glance: every kind of robot, sized by the capital it’s raised (flip the toggle to company count). For the rest — money flows, the live hiring signal, geography, deployment reality, and a browsable directory of all ~2,500 companies — open the full report ↗ .

Single source of truth: the dataset lives in /robotics/data.js and powers both this chart and the full interactive report , so they stay in sync.
